Rachel Shively, Research Associate, Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences of Texas A&M University will discuss bats in general, benefits of bats, bats in Texas including popular viewing locations and her research, and ways to provide good bat habitat. This diverse group of over 1300 species offer some amazing benefits. Come learn about bats in Texas including current research, where to see them, services they provide, and some tips to attract them to your property.​

Rachel Shively has a master's in Wildlife Biology and Conservation from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She currently studies Texan bats and Alaskan moose. She enjoys backpacking and exploring all of the wild places in between.
